Breakfast on Karpathos we actually always do at home, but once in a while we also like to have breakfast outside. When we do, we have breakfast in Pigadia at En Plo or close to our house at Poseidon Blue. How & what to read in this blog 🙂

Breakfast on Karpathos

I find extended breakfasts incredibly enjoyable. Of course, it is even more fun when you are on vacation and can have breakfast first thing in the morning with lovely weather and a beautiful view! With our own house on Karpathos, we actually always have breakfast at home. Nice (toasted) bread, tea and fresh juice. But I also really like to have breakfast outside. But what could be better than having a delicious breakfast prepared for you once in a while. After all, you are on vacation too 😉

To En Plo we go if we want to have a delicious breakfast at the harbor. Because it is the capital of Karpathos there is always something going on at the harbor. We choose Poseidon Blue if we want a little more peace and quiet with a beautiful view. Both have delicious breakfast with nice good coffee.

En Plo

The restaurant En Plo can be found at the harbor in Pigadia ”under” the bank / restaurant Acropolis next to the stairs (see below via google maps). We often choose En Plo when we are in transit to a beach a little further from our house. Think of Appella, Kyra or Achata.

At En Plo they have all different breakfasts with really good coffee. You can choose anything you fancy, from yoghurt breakfast, fried egg on bread or a club sandwich ;). En Plo is also very active on Instagram, so if you take a nice picture of your breakfast, be sure to tag them.

Our favorite: yogurt bowl

A few years ago different owners moved in and lucky me the menu hasn’t changed mega much! At least, some things have been added or changed in appearance, but I don’t think many dishes have disappeared from the menu. Very nice, because my favorite breakfast was still on the menu: a yogurt bowl with fresh juice and coffee. Vincent chose (yes, for breakfast!) a club sandwich with chicken with fries. Both dishes looked wonderful. You really get a lot and it’s really tasty! Then also imagine yourself sitting in your summer outfit, in the sun, by the harbor and your morning really couldn’t start any better. 😉

In the evening happy hour

Should we be in Pigadia in the evening we also like to visit En Plo, as they have delicious cocktails and also this menu has been expanded and now even more delicious 😉 P.S. Poseidon Blue

Since Angela and Ingmar have been taking over more and more from Angela’s parents, they have been improving their hotel and restaurant concept. The restaurant is known for its quality and the dishes are dressed and prepared just a little differently. Also, a number of rooms have already been changed to modern and luxurious. Of course, the breakfast could not be left behind!

They also have a special breakfast menu for non-hotel guests where you can choose from a standard menu with fresh bread and fruit, orange juice, yogurt and delicious toppings. Also some more luxurious menus with an omelet or fried egg with bacon, pancakes, gluten-free breakfast and breakfast for the kids.

In addition, Poseidon Blue serves delicious coffee. For the Dutch and Italians this is surely the most important thing to start your day well! The combination of the deliciously extensive breakfast with the view of Damatria beach is fantastic!
