Snorkeling on Karpathos is wonderful, but some beaches are more interesting than others when it comes to their underwater world. Are you going to Karpathos for the first time? Then this list is for you. Today I am sharing my favorites spots for snorkeling.

Apella

Apella really is at the top of my list! The beach itself is already beautiful and was once voted the most beautiful beach in Greece for a reason, underwater is just as beautiful. In the sea you will soon find beautiful rocks underwater, where there are all kinds of cute fish and who knows, you might even see some bigger ones swimming!

Saria

Okay, Saria is actually a stand-alone island, but it practically belongs to Karpathos so it just deserves to be listed in my opinion! For me it is the most beautiful place when it comes to snorkeling on Karpathos. To Saria you go by boat from Pigadia or Diafani. Once on Saria, you will have a nice long break on Palatia beach. Maybe I like this underwater world even more than Apella after all! You can also swim/climb through a little cave here (seen from the beach on the left).

Diakoftis

You will find this little beach near the airport. The beach and much of the water is sand, but on the sides you will find rocks that make Diakoftis a beautiful bay. On this beach you can see some kind of streets (the left beach) and even find a very large bomb (the right beach)! I also saw sea spiders (is that what you call them?!).

Achata

Finally, I want to include Achata on this list. This beach is located near Apella. Also this beach – like all beaches on Karpathos 😉 – beautiful again! Throughout the sea you will find all the cute colored fish!
