As you may know if you follow my blog, I just got back from a week of Karpathos with friends. They were on the island for the first time and so I showed them as much as I could. Therefore, a boat trip was not to be missed this week on Karpathos! In this blog you can read more about the boat trip we did.
I chose the boat trip of Sofia my Love where we would go along Vasillis Paradise, Apella and Kyra Panagia. In the morning we left early for Pigadia, because the boat would leave at 9:30 a.m. and of course you still want to score a nice spot on the boat! From Pigadia we sailed along the coast. I still love admiring Karpathos from the sea.
We sailed past Ahata, Kyra Panagia and then we also passed Apella until we arrived at Vasilis Paradise. Vasilis Paradise is a very small private beach. You can go here only by boat would be possible. At the little beach you can snorkel beautifully and while we had a nice swim, the crew went to prepare our lunch. Lunch consisted of a salad with rice and a delicious souvlaki. We had lunch with the whole group in the crew’s self-designed 5* restaurant. Very nicely done and from this place you really have a beautiful view over the sea.
When everyone has had lunch it is time to sail on to Apella. Here we can get off the boat again. I was extremely tired and we had quite a day/evening ahead of us, so I took a nap in the shade, but the girls enjoyed swimming and lying on the deck of the boat.
At 3 p.m., after 2 hours of Apella, it is time to say goodbye to this beautiful beach. We are now sailing towards Pigadia again, but on the way we stop for about half an hour at Kyra Panagia. Here we can dive into the sea from the boat and have some time to swim. Then it is time to sail back to the port of Pigadia. On the way we are offered a nice piece of watermelon and one of the crew members performs a small play with the children who were aboard our boat and then our day is over.
Really a very nice boat trip, where you can see Karpathos from another side! Have you ever done a boat trip on Karpathos?
Would you also like to book a boat trip? Of course you can do that through your tour operator, if you have one, but I would always do it at the boat itself. The boats are in the harbor of Pigadia at night and then you can just walk by to reserve a spot. You pay the next day on the boat. For this trip we spent € 25 per person including the food.
Did you know you can also take a boat trip to Saria?
