Travel advice Greece

Traveling to Greece is currently not recommended. The country is has the colour orange, which means that you can only travel if necessarily. However, you do not need to provide proof of this (to date).

Traveling to Karpathos during covid-19

This applies not only to Karpathos, but again to all of Greece. Anyone traveling to Greece must do a PCR test beforehand. You do this in your own country and may not be older than 72 hours at the time of arrival in Greece. Of course it must be negative;) and you must have this in an English document.

In addition, you must have completed a PLF form at least 24 hours in advance and you must be able to prove the QR code upon arrival in Greece. You can fill in the form here.

There are some uncertainties about quarantine (even if you are negative!). When we arrived here on January 8, 2021, we heard different things from different camps. At the moment, the website where you request your PLF form states 7 days quarantine. It is therefore best to keep this.

Measures on Karpathos during covid-19

The same measures apply throughout Greece. Greece is currently in lockdown. They do have different color codes per area / island within Greece. Karpathos is green, so that is very positive! Unfortunately, this does not mean that the measures here are more flexible than in other areas. At the moment retail shops and hairdressers etc. are open. Furthermore, the following rules apply:

Whoever goes outside must let us know (also for a walk). Read here how this works. Wearing a mouth mask is mandatory everywhere, also outside. Keep a distance of 1.5 meters from each other In a rental car you are allowed with a maximum of 3 people, families excluded.
