1st holiday

My very first holiday to Karpathos was in 2004. I was 9 years old then and together with my parents we went for 2 weeks and stayed in Kyra Panagia. That holiday my parents bought a holiday home on the island and I haven't skipped a year since.

Vincent went along for the first time in 2011 and in 2017 we also bought a house on the island.

WE LOVE KARPATHOS and we would like to share this place with you. On this page you will find all the information you need to plan your holiday to Karpathos and to get tips for when you are at your destination.

About this Greek island

Karpathos is a relatively undiscovered island in the Dodecanese. You will find the island between the larger islands of Crete and Rhodes. The island mainly has mountains and is therefore also popular with hikers. But on Karpathos you also have to be for the beautiful beaches and the cozy tavernas.

From the end of April the first direct flights for holidays go to Karpathos and the last flights go at the end of September / beginning of October.

A holiday to Karpathos is perfect if you are looking for a real Greek island without all-inclusive hotels and many nightlife options. And if you like a beach/active combination.

Transport on Karpathos

Although there are buses between certain points on Karpathos, public transport is definitely not as we are used to. In addition, we think that Karpathos has so much beauty to offer that it is a shame not to arrange your own transport. It is best to go for a car, but there are also quads and scooters for rent on the island.
