My first holidays to Karpathos
My very first holiday to Karpathos was in 2004. I was 9 years old at the time and together with my parents we went for 2 weeks and stayed in Kyra Panagia. That holiday my parents bought a holiday home on the island and I haven’t skipped a year since.
Vincent went for the first time in 2011 and in 2017 we too bought a house on the island.
WE LOVE KARPATHOS and this is a place we would like to share with you. On this page you will find all the information you need to plan your holiday to Karpathos and to get some tips for when you are at your destination.

About this Greek Island
Karpathos is a relatively undiscovered island in the Dodecanese. You will find the island between the larger islands of Crete and Rhodes. The island has mainly mountains and is therefore popular with hikers. But Karpathos is also the place to be for its beautiful beaches and cosy tavernas.
The first direct flights to Karpathos start at the end of April and the last flights leave at the end of September or the beginning of October.
A holiday to Karpathos is perfect if you are looking for a real Greek island without all-inclusive hotels and lots of nightlife. And when you like a combi beach/active.

Transportation on Karpathos
Although there are buses on Karpathos between certain points, the public transport is absolutely not what we are used to. Besides, we think that Karpathos has so much beauty to offer that it is a shame not to arrange your own transport. The best thing to do is to rent a car, but there are also quads and scooters for hire on the island.
Food and drinks
We love the fact that Karpathos is not a paradise for all-inclusive hotels, because the island has so many great tarverns to offer!
Guided tours with Art&Walk
Art and Walk is the company on Karpathos that does hikings, mosaic workshops and day trips to Kasos. The company is run by a fantastic couple: Renate (Dutch) and Thom (Swedish). Do you want to do something active? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Karpathos activities and hotspots
