We regularly receive private messages with questions about where you should definitely eat in our opinion and last week it was hit ;) again. That's why we thought it would be fun to share our favorite restaurants on Karpathos with you. The 5 restaurants below are all different restaurants where we like to go!
5x Restaurants op Karpathos
And Plo – Pigadia, Karpathos
When you see En Plo you may not immediately think of a restaurant to dine in the evening. We get it. It looks more like a café / bar where you can go for a drink. Nothing could be further from the truth, and Plo is really suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner! At En Plo they serve very diverse dishes and not necessarily Greek. Nice, because it is sometimes nice to eat something different! And Plo for us is:
- Cosy, good staff
- Tasty cocktails (Happy hour between 5 and 7.30 pm)
- Good burgers and sandwiches
- Yogurt breakfast (yogurt with fresh fruit, honey and walnuts, YUM!)
Four Seasons – Amoopi, Karpathos
Four Seasons is our favorite restaurant in the village of Amoopi on Karpathos. First we always have a drink at Tom from the Skala Bar and then we eat at the Four Seasons. A cozy tent with simple, but good Greek dishes. Especially their fresh bread with onions is really delicious! For us, Four Seasons is:
- Cosy, good staff
- In addition to the menu always some fresh dishes
- Vers Karpathian bread (warm!)
- Ouzo'tje of the house
Kipos – Arkassa, Karpathos
For us , Kipos is really the number #1 among the restaurants on Karpathos. The name of the restaurant already lives up to its name. Kipos means garden and that's what the restaurant looks like. They have a nice kitchen. Greek dishes, but just a little different touch.
- Beautiful location and good staff
- Greek dishes, but slightly different
- Fresh dishes every day, in addition to the regular menu
- Try 'Kipan-gria', delicious alcoholic drink! Is no longer on the menu, but if you ask, Manolis will make ???? it especially for you
Mesogios – Pigadia, Karpathos
Mesogios restaurant can be found at the port of Karpathos in Pigadia. Recently the tent has been painted, but it used to be a restaurant really very bright blue. Real Greek, that was also the reason we went to eat there at the time: really a Greek taverna. Mesogios has a lot of dishes and is known for the Greek tapas, mezzes. They also have fresh dishes every day. Mesogios for us:
- Good staff (and funny!)
- Every day different, fresh dishes (from +/- 15.00 hours viaFacebook already visible)
- Spanakopita
- Whole or half chicken every Friday and Saturday
Poseidon – Afiartis, Karpathos
Poseidon restaurant is around the corner ???? from us The restaurant (and hotel) is located at the Damatria beach in Afiartis. This restaurant on Karpathos is run by a Dutch sommelier and his Greek wife. She participated in Masterchef Greece a few years ago and that is also reflected in the dishes. All dishes are very special. The prices here are a lot higher than in the other restaurants on Karpathos. But Poseidon is certainly fun for a special evening or to celebrate something. Poseidon means to us:
- Special dishes
- For a special evening or to celebrate something
- Chicken nest
- Lamb & pork from the Greek oven on Sunday (usually reservation required)
Under the trees – Finiki, Karpathos
If you are looking for a nice restaurant to have lunch on Karpathos, then Under the trees is recommended! This restaurant has a fantastic spot with beautiful views. The location is recognizable by the blue bench along the road. Here many tourists take pictures, highly recommended! In front of the blue bench (seen from Finiki towards Lefkos) you will find Under the trees. This spot has a small menu, but is Oh so tasty! We stopped here for a piece of bread and souvlaki and it was to feast! Under the trees for us:
- Cozy stopover
- For a simple (but tasty!) lunch
- Souvlaki sticks
Hi, what is the nicest place for a stay of 10 days ?
Thank you!
Hi Ruud,
It is difficult to give ???? a concrete answer to that In the capital Pigadia you will find the most entertainment. A nice boulevard and many restaurants and souvenir shops. If you like that or if you don't want to rent a car, for example, I would go for Pigadia.
If you prefer a little more peace and quiet, then Amoopi and Arkassa are a good idea. In Arkassa there is usually a nice breeze and here you still have a small center. Amoopi does not have this and there is usually little or no wind here.
If you come to Karpathos for windsurfing, you could choose Afiartis ????

Success!
