Boottrip op Karpathos | Apella en Kyra Panagia

As you may know if you follow my blog, I just got back from a week in Karpathos with friends. They were on the island for the first time and so I showed them as much as possible. A boat trip could therefore not be missed this week on Karpathos! In this blog you can read more about the boat trip we did.

I opted for the Sofia my Love boat trip where we would visit Vasillis Paradise, Apella and Kyra Panagia. In the morning we set out for Pigadia early, because the boat would leave at half past 9 and of course you still want to score a nice spot on the boat! From Pigadia we sailed along the coast. I still love to admire Karpathos from the sea.

We sailed past Ahata, Kyra Panagia and then we also passed Apella until we arrived at Vasilis Paradise. Vasilis Paradise is a very small private beach. You can only get here by boat. At the beach you can snorkel beautifully and while we could swim, the crew prepared our lunch. Lunch consisted of a salad with rice and a delicious souvlaki. We have lunch with the whole group in the crew's self-designed 5* restaurant. Very nicely done and from this place you really have a beautiful view of the sea.

When everyone has had lunch it is time to sail on to Apella. Here we can get off the boat again. I was very tired and we still had quite a day/evening to go. so I took a nap in the shade, but the girls had a lovely swim and lay on the deck of the boat.

At 3 p.m., after 2 hours of Apella, it is time to say goodbye to this beautiful beach. We are now sailing towards Pigadia again, but on the way we stop for about half an hour at Kyra Panagia. Here we can dive into the sea from the boat and we still have some time to swim. Then it is time to sail back to the port of Pigadia. On the way we are offered a nice piece of watermelon and one of the crew members performs a small play with the children who were on board our boat and then our day is over.

A really nice boat trip, where you can see Karpathos from a different angle! Have you ever done a boat trip on Karpathos?

Do you also want to book a boat trip? You can of course do this through your tour operator, if you have one, but I would always do it at the boat itself. The boats are in the port of Pigadia in the evening and then you can just walk by to reserve a spot. You pay the next day on the boat. For this trip we lost € 25 per person including food.

Did you know that you can also do a boat trip to Saria ?

Kalimera! We are Athina & Vincent. A Dutch couple who have been living on Karpathos for a few years. On this blog we share our stories and the most beautiful places of the island with you!
