As you may know if you follow my blog, I have just returned from a week on Karpathos with friends. It was their first time on the island so I showed them as much as possible. A boat trip could not be missed this week on Karpathos! In this blog you can read more about the boat trip we made.
I chose the boat trip of Sofia my Love where we would go to Vasillis Paradise, Apella and Kyra Panagia. In the morning, we left early for Pigadia, because the boat would leave at half past 10 and of course you still want to score a nice spot on the boat! From Pigadia, we sailed along the coast. I still like to admire Karpathos from the sea.
We sailed past Ahata, Kyra Panagia and then we also passed Apella until we reached Vasilis Paradise. Vasilis Paradise is a very small private beach. You can only get there by boat. The beach is great for snorkelling and while we were swimming, the crew prepared our lunch. The lunch consisted of a salad with rice and a delicious souvlaki. We have lunch with the whole group in the crew’s own 5* restaurant. Very nicely done and from this spot, you really have a beautiful view over the sea.
When everyone has had lunch, it is time to sail on to Apella. Here we can get off the boat again. I was very tired and we still had quite a day/evening ahead of us, so I took a nap in the shade, but the girls enjoyed swimming and lying on the deck of the boat.
At 3pm, after 2 hours at Apella, it is time to say goodbye to this beautiful beach. We now sail back to Pigadia, but on the way we stop for about half an hour at Kyra Panagia. Here we can dive from the boat into the sea and we have some time to swim. Then, it is time to sail back to the harbour of Pigadia. On the way, we are offered a nice piece of watermelon and one of the crew members performs a small play with the children who were on board of our boat and then our day is already over.
Really a very pleasant boat trip, which allows you to see Karpathos from a different side! Have you ever done a boat trip on Karpathos?
Do you want to book a boat trip? You can do that through your tour operator, if you have one, but I would always do it at the boat itself. The boats are in the harbour of Pigadia in the evening and you can just walk by to reserve a place. You pay the next day at the boat. For this trip we paid € 25,- per person including food.
Did you know that you can also get a boat trip to Saria?
